  7. UVAPAY • Term charges are available online only, in July and December. No paper bill sent to student or parent. • Students access UVAPay through SIS (http://www.virginia.edu/sis) • Parents and others access UVAPay through Payer Portal at https://virginia.myonplanu.com/login 7

  12. PAYMENTS YOU INITIATE • UVAPay by electronic check. This is our recommended method! No money market, brokerage, or 529 accounts through UVAPay • UVAPay by credit card, with a 2.75% merchant fee (MC, AMEX, DISC, but not VISA) • Mail a check, with remittance advice or student id on memo line (not recommended, generally) 529 savings plans (you contact them directly, then they usually send a check to us) • • State pre-paid plans (you contact them directly, then they let us know) Semester payment plan (you set this up in UVAPay each semester you want it) • 12

  13. SEMESTER PAYMENT PLAN • Enrollment available only through UVAPay, and only for fall or spring terms Budget and enroll by semester. Sign up through August 5 th for fall for a 3-month • plan • Budget for direct charges – tuition, fees, housing, and dining • $45 per semester registration fee. No interest is charged, but you need to sign up every term you want to use it • 3, 4, or 5-month plans available, depending on when you sign up • Details at http://sfs.virginia.edu/payplan 13

  14. PAYMENTS PENDING AS ANTICIPATED CREDITS The payment types below may show as an anti ticipat cipated ed credit it prior to and even after the term charges are due. If you see an anticipated credit, know that you don’t have to pay that amount by the due date in order to keep the account in good standing. Only pay whatever balance might remain after accounting for the anticipated credit. • Financial aid, including accepted loans and grants (but t not ot wo work study! y!) HOW AND WHEN FINANCIAL AID CREDITS THE STUDENT ACCOUNT • Will credit no earlier than August 17th for the fall 2020 term (federal regulations prevent us from doing it any earlier) • Loans will credit the amount borrowed minus the origination fee • Federal Work Study is not considered anticipated aid! • More information about financial aid 15

  16. REFUNDS OF CREDITS • Sign up for direct deposit • Refunds begin processing the first week of classes • Keep mailing addresses in SIS up to date to avoid delays 16
