C LASS OF T RADE  Manufacturers have different pricing for different types of purchasers No industry standard  Acute care  Alternate care   Retail  Rationale for how purchasers are assigned a class of trade is not transparent and differs with each manufacturer  DEA number  IMS Classification “Third party vendor”   Result is that purchasers obtain the same products at varying rates 17

Wholesaler Cost of Goods (COGs)   Based on state monthly purchase volume and facility payment terms Invoice price = MMCAP contract price * ([100 – COGs%] / 100])  Drug A MMCAP Contract Price = $323.97  Facility Cost of Goods = 1.54%   Invoice Price = $323.97 * ([100 – 1.54] / 100) = $318.98 21

P HARMACY C ATALOG Log In username and password are different for the MMCAP website  vs. the pharmaceutical pricing catalog Most information you will need is on the MMCAP website, including  contract summary documents  Pharmacy Catalog is only for pharmaceutical pricing MMCAP Website Manager will assign username and password   The additional log in is required because the catalog is supported by an outside vendor, which updates our pricing weekly. 22
