Consultation Response • Over 15,000 household received a consultation brochure • 870 completed questionnaires were received and various events were held with good attendance • All questions gained more support that opposition with most questions gaining significant support. • The project team have also talked in depth with Road Safety Officers, Signals Team and Cycling Officers. • This engagement process has led to a number of design considerations which were outlined and discussed at an LLF workshop in January 2019

  3. January Workshop Discussion • The first part of the LLF workshop dealt with proposed design changes following comments received during the public consultation and also discussion with Safety, Signals, and Cycling officers at Cambridgeshire County Council • The second part covered landscaping proposals. The outcome of the discussions has helped to inform the outline landscape proposals that are being recommended by officers.

  4. Modifications Summary • Detail of the modifications to the scheme following consultation feedback is contained within the publish report that will be presented to the Joint Assembly, in summary, changes include: • Addition of signalised crossing near Westbrook Place and subsequent changes to the design of Gilbert Road junction. • Additional space for pedestrians and cyclists at Elizabeth Way roundabout and removal of shared use areas in favour of full segregation. • Slight modifications to the Arbury Road Junction, consistency with Gilbert Road • Addition of signalised crossing near Downhams Lane • Re-worked design for the area around Woodhead Drive to enhance the outbound bus lane, shorten the inbound bus lane, and provide an uncontrolled crossing. • New design for pedestrians and cyclists at Kings Hedges junction. • Reduction of proposed shared use pavement to include only the section between Ascham Road and Highworth Avenue • Minor modifications to the position of several bus stops
