  12. 5th Grade Biliteracy Pathway Awards Elementary Pathway to Biliteracy Award: Meet one of the following requirements: • Attain an overall 3s or higher in target language on the 5th grade report card. • Demonstrate proficiency in the target language @ 5th Grade. Proficiency may be assessed with a district-adopted assessment program (AVANT Stamp 4SE). Elementary Bilingual Certificate of Participation Meet the following requirement: • Demonstrate positive attitudes towards bilingualism in a K-5 immersion program. S L I D E 1 2

  13. 8th Grade Biliteracy Pathway Awards Middle School Pathway to Biliteracy Award: Meet one of the following requirements: • Demonstrate successful completion of three sequential years of Immersion World Language courses and attain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above in those course studies. • Enrolled in at least one Immersion class every year. Students enrolled in only one Immersion class must maintain a 3.0 in the enrolled Immersion class. • Demonstrate proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin at appropriate 8th Grade Immersion level (AAPPL Assessment). Middle School Bilingual Certificate of Participation Meet the following requirement: • Demonstrate completion of three sequential years of a World Language course. S L I D E 1 3

  18. Open Enrollment Window February 1 - April 15, 2018 School enrollment is determined by the address where your student lives. You may choose a different school by submitting your written request during open enrollment. Permits are located on the LUSD website: Parent Resources tab www.lsusd.net Tour Dates & Parent Meetings Tours at Tierra del Sol on Feb 13 @ 8:00 am, Feb 16 @ 11:00 am. Feb 15 @ 11:00 am Immersion tour Tours at Lakeside Middle School Feb 7 @ 9:00 am Immersion tour Feb 14 @ 9:00 am (all incoming) Parent Meetings & Open House will be held at each middle school. Parent meetings will be held at 5:00 pm with Open House immediately following Tierra del Sol on March 7, Open House begins at 6:00 pm Lakeside Middle School on March 22, Open House begins at 6:00 pm S L I D E 1 8
