TOHMAJÄRVI FACTORY The Tohmajärvi factory houses about 10 CNC machines , the largest of which can machine 1000 mm in diameter with revolving tools. The stars of our production are 5-axis Mazak e1060 and i300 multitasking machines. CAM- programming is done directly from a 3D-model with GibbsCAM software. It’s everyday life in Tohmajärvi to manufacture demanding single parts. This is largely possible thanks to the 2 versatile multitasking machines, which are also used to manufacture geared components in the same machine, from start to finish.
AREAS OF OPERATION Contract Manufacturing customers, such as Metso Flow Control, D- Hydro and Kesla, are served machining out of various materials, castings, forgings etc. MFG is able to supply a finished component assembly from the material to the surface treatment in co- operation with our extensive network of partners. Power transmission solutions are our largest product group to benefit from new manufacturing techniques and our own designs, which has made innovative new, customizable products, possible. Prominent customers are Andritz, The Switch, Santasalo Gears and Desch GmbH. To complete the product line, we do i mport power transmission standard components. Components are imported from China, Japan, Italy and Germany, from proven partners, with whom MFG can supply even complete power transmission solutions. Our most prominent partners are MAV from Italy and Vulkan and Desch from Germany. These components are mostly sold to large OEMs; Metso, Valmet, Sulzer, Outotec, Andritz, Haloila, etc. MFG Components do utilize 40+ years of experience in power transmission and manufacturing, to provide contract customers the best service and products, manufactured in repeat single pieces or small series.

CONTRACT MANUFACTURING MFG is specialized in providing our contract customers with machined components, ready to assemble. We have been serving most of our prominent customers for over a decade, and aim for long term contracts with all of our clients. MFG’s inspectors are NDT -2 certified, so supplying the customer with inspected and even repair welded cast components is possible. GEARING MFG operates traditional hobbing machines for manufacturing external gearing: Max. diameter 850 mm and module 12. Gear shaping machines are used to manufacture internal gearing: Max. diameter 1400 mm and module 12. Our modern 5-axis machines are used to machine complete gear components with large modules. Tooth profile and size are only limited by the 3D-model. Complex profiles with different types of reliefs or chamfers are possible with standard tools. The 3D-model can be generated by MFG, using special software, or by the customer. The finished piece is 1:1 with the 3D-model. Special form cutting tools can be used for serial production.
ASSEMBLIES Subassemblies are based on manufactured and imported components, to provide the customer with a complete power transmission solutions from one supplier. This saves money and time. All assemblies are stamped with a unique ID number, inspected and documented. They can also be delivered test driven according to the customers’ specifications.
SHAFT COUPLINGS When you deal with MFG, you’re dealing directly with the designer and the manufacturer. Our own coupling portfolio includes many models, which are all customizable to fit the customer’s drive. Our own couplings can be complimented by standard products from the well known German manufacturers, Desch and Vulkan. We can also supply clutches and disengaging couplings.
MANUFACTURED POWER TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS Our comprehensive portfolio of imported power transmission components is complimented by our own production, which turns out thousands of special pulleys, wheels and sprockets every year. This guarantees that the customer gets exactly what they need, instead of having to rely on solely standard solutions. MFG is one of the largest manufacturers of special pulleys in the Nordic countries. We can manufacture any special pulley up to 1000 mm in diameter, according to either our own or the customer’s design.
