How does Merton MSK service work? • Research and international best practice tells us the vast majority of patients with MSK problems need physiotherapy input • This, in most cases, is the definitive treatment, but is also a pre- operative requirement for most surgical procedures • All our management pathways are based on the latest evidence based practice • The team’s key focus is supporting the patient to self -treat / manage their own condition • Shared decision making is embedded in the process Page 5
CATs Service If physiotherapy fails to help or is not indicated, CATS assist further MSK management including: • All investigations can be considered / requested where appropriate • Peripheral injections • Onward referral can be made Page 6
