Aims • To provide you with information about the LC framework • To explain the team roles (Teachers, Nursery Nurses, Pupil Support Assistants, Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapists) • To explain some of our goals, systems and procedures • To provide the opportunity for you to ask any questions

Snack and trips. • Snack each day in class- communication, social time, variety of foods. • £1 a week contribution for snack- paid termly if possible. • Trips to the shop, budgeting, food preparation. • Lunches • Yard each term when possible- £3 a session. • Local trips- bike centre, park, library- no cost.
Reading At Broughton we value reading and have created a literacy rich environment. Each term we have a reading focus for the whole school and have created an engaging, progressive and challenging reading programme for our pupils. We promote reading for enjoyment, author visits, high quality discussions, in depth text analysis and regularly celebrate the achievements of our pupils. • within this context where appropriate the LC team provide opportunities for both individual, group and mainstream programmes • library visits with associated skills • Emphasis on visual communication
Cursive Handwriting Improves spelling (When a child learns a word by writing it as a complete word, muscle-memory helps the child remember how to spell the word, as they remember how the word feels, looks and sounds.) Improves grammar (Eventually, it is easier to see the full word and use the correct spacing which makes it easier to know where to punctuate.) Boosts self-esteem (Improvements in spelling and overall presentation lead to an increase in self-esteem.)

LC team to have papers ready for CMRG to meet end of October. • November - Out of catchment requests - on onlin line form becomes available - Contact us if problems • November - secondary open evenings are held - keep an eye out! • De December - Closing date for non-catchment forms • Easter brea eak - Out of catchment requests announced - appeal process • May - Case Management Review Group placements announced • Ju June e - CEC 3 day transition visits to secondary school or enhanced transition begins

Parent Staff Association (PSA) Our PSA play a huge role in the school! We need as many people to help as possible!
