Aggregate Computation The aggregate computation for admission to ITE is based on your 4 best subjects , taking into account the required subjects specified by particular courses. N(T) Grade ITE Aggregate Points A 1 B 2 C 3 D 4 U 5

TRAINEESHIP TRAINING SYSTEM Objective Structured mode of training that enables students to learn valuable skills in an actual work environment and earn a salary at the same time Duration 1 to 2 years (depends on traineeship course) 2 Components On-the-job training (work under the supervision of an experienced and qualified trainer in the sponsoring company to learn the skills needed for the job) Off-the-job training (attend theory and practical lessons and work at the sponsoring company) (lessons may be conducted on a full-time block-release (full-time for a few days or weeks) and/or day-release (once or twice a week) basis) 30

INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION EARLY ADMISSIONS EXERCISE (ITE EAE) Purpose Allows students to seek admission and receive conditional offers to the Institute of Technical Education on the basis of aptitudes and interests, beyond academic grades Application Process 1) Consider your strengths and interests 2) Discuss with your parents / guardians 3) Shortlist courses that match your strengths and/or interests 4) Check out the selection criteria for your shortlisted courses 5) Submit the EAE application form to ITE before deadline (Reference – Application period for 2018 Poly EAE: 21 May 2018 – 7 Sep 2018) 37
INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION EARLY ADMISSIONS EXERCISE (ITE EAE) Release of Application Outcome OUTCOME ACTION BY STUDENT If you wish to take up the offer, you will have to submit the Offered acceptance form to ITE before the end of the Acceptance Stage Not Offered You will participate in the JIE 2020 Important Note After the release of GCE N-Level Examination results: Students who had conditional offers to ITE course through 2019 ITE EAE will be admitted to their chosen course in ITE if they have met the eligibility criteria for admission based on their GCE N-Level examination results ( NOT eligible to participate in JIE 2020) Students who do not meet the ITE admission criteria may take part in the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) to apply for course which they are eligible for 38
