ELECTIVES FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT • Principles of Art, A/V, & Communication (1.0) o Learn how to communicate effectively using technology to create photos, animations, audio, and video. • Concepts of Engineering & Technology (1.0) o Students will learn how to construct 3D models, basic app development for Android based devices, and build projects using simple power tools. o Suggested in 8 th /9 th grade • Hospitality & Tourism (1.0) o Students will cook throughout the year, learn about restaurants, hotels, theme parks, and traveling. • Principles of Human Services (1.0) o Students will cook, learn to sew, child development (flour baby project), money management, careers, interior design, mental health, and more! * Students may only earn a maximum of 2.0 high school credits from any combination of these CTE and Tech Application courses in middle school.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPANISH OPTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT Spanish 1A Spanish 1F (Full year, earns 0.5 credit in 7 th grade) (Full year, earns 1.0 credit in 8 th grade only) Spanish 1B (Full year, earns 0.5 credit in 8 th grade) Both options earn a total of 1.0 High School credit for Language Other than English (LOTE). Students are required to have 2.0 credits to graduate. Fluent/native Spanish speakers are encouraged to take Spanish in high school. A placement test is offered in 8 th grade.
