About ROMANIA Romania is a country located at the crossroads of Central and Southeastern Europe, bordering on the Black Sea. About BUZAU Buzau City is located in Southeastern region of Romania, in the historical region of Walachia. With a population of around 150.000 habitants, Buzau is the 18’th largest city in Romania. Predominant industries: mechanical components for automotive industry, metallurgical parts, glass, textiles, food, wood, etc. Buzau can be reached on DN2 (Euro 85) from Bucharest and major cities of Moldova. Also, it can be reached on DN1B from Ploiesti, Brasov and other cities located in the central region of Romania and on DN2B from Braila and Galati. The nearest international Airport is Henry Coanda, located in Otopeni, 115 km far from Buzau.

General information With more than 40 years of experience in its field of activity, Rotec S.A. was established in 1971, as state owned company. In November 2001 the company was privatized. As a leading manufacturer of technological equipment in this area of Europe, ROTEC S.A. is in a continuous pursuit of enhancing the quality level and diversity of its' products range, as well as in search of opportunities to forge long lasting relationships with high calibre clients. ROTEC’S Timeline Past products Year 1971 The Terracing Equipment Enterprise was established, with a capacity of 13.200 tons/year of terracing equipment; the main products were compacting rolls for the domestic and foreign market. Year 1973 The factory is extended by placing into operation of the main workshop, heat treatment facilities, technical and utilities annex buildings. Year 1974 Products range shifts towards metallurgical equipment, therefore the factory is renamed to Technological Equipment Enterprise, Buzau. Year 1975 By merging with the Mechanical Technological Equipment Enterprise, the Technological Equipment Enterprise Buzau is established, within it S.C. ”ROTEC” S.A. stands out as the METALLURGICAL EQUIPMENT FACTORY (FUM) Buzau.
ROTEC’S Timeline Past products Year 1976 By State Decree no. 321, new investments are approved and later put into operation: in 1978 the new workshop for the manufacturing of metallurgical machines, and the Forge in 1982. Year 1986 By State Decree no. 21 / 21.01.1986, The Metallurgical Machines Enterprise Buzau was established (starting with 01.01.1986), by reorganizing the Metallurgical Equipment Factory, formerly encompassed within the Technological Equipment Enterprise Buzau. Year 1990 In compliance with Law no. 15/1990, by Government Decree no. 1213 / 20.11.1990, The Metallurgical Machines Enterprise Buzau ceases operations and S.C. ROTEC S.A. Is established by taking over all assets of the dissolved entity. Year 1997 The Quality Assurance System is implemented in accordance to SR EN ISO 9002: 1995
ROTEC’S Timeline Past products Year 2000 The Quality Assurance System, documented, implemented and maintained in accordance to the requirements of SR EN ISO 9002:1995 is certified by SIMTEX – OC SA Bucharest. Year 2001 S.C. ROTEC S.A. Buzau is privatised. Year 2003 The Quality Management System, which was previously implemented, maintained and continuously improved in accordance to the requirements of SR EN ISO 9001:2001, was certified by SGS Romania.
ROTEC’S Timeline Past products Year 2005 The Environment Management System which was previously implemented, maintained and continuously improved in accordance to the requirements of SR EN ISO 14001: 2005 was certified by SGS Romania. Year 2006 SC ROTEC SA Buzau researches and implements The Integrated Quality – Environment – SSO, SMI CMSSO, in accordance to the requirements of SR EN ISO 9001: 2001, SR EN ISO 14001: 2005.
ROTEC’S Timeline Year 2011 At the beginning of 2011, the forge workshop has separated from ROTEC, becoming and independent company, named “F ORJA ROTEC SRL”. This company is now a member of Rotec Group, having the same ownership. With more than 100 employees, FORJA ROTEC SRL has a monthly turnover of about 750.000 Euro, supplying forged parts in Romania and abroad.
