Matthew 13:24-43 43
The growth and reach of the Kingdom of God cannot be stopped.
▪ Jesus is sowing seeds ▪ The seeds are people ▪ The field is the world ▪ Devil is sowing seeds too
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Matthew 12:30
Intermixed within the Kingdom are followers of Jesus and followers of the enemy.
So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ 29 But he said, ‘ No Matthew 13:28b-29a
Reason #1 Uprooting the weeds endangers the wheat
18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Philippians 1
Reason #2 Jesus loves them both, wheat & weeds
Parable of the mustard seed Parable of the leaven
The mustard seed demonstrates the growth of the Kingdom
The leaven/yeast demonstrates the reach of the Kingdom
The weeds will not hinder the growth or the reach of the Kingdom
The love of Jesus is the most powerful force on the planet.
The gospel of Jesus is the most powerful truth on the planet.
We all started as enemies of God.
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Romans 5
