Fall 2013 Late resignation of AD/DAC a. Good athletic background but not an education degree-position evolved around an athletic interest b. I took on the AD job so we could have time to study data/needs--principals assumed the DAC for their areas If we really wanted to make improvements academically for our students we need a DAC/Academic Interventionist a. Some resistance, still an interest to hire an AD/Assistant principal b. Reviewed discipline needs over past 5 years, no data justifying an assistant principal c. Constant communication with BOE on what we were looking at to make a change in the academic atmosphere of our school
2015 DAC Interventionist share data to improve student knowledge and staff differentiate instruction based upon assessment data instruction assess data; identify students at risk interpret and analyze assessment data design and implement academic interventions w/ research-based administer informal and formal assessments methodology assist staff in transition to WI Forward communicate with school personnel and parents regarding academic coordinate test schedules needs link results to course content document interventions and progress analyze school report card provide intervention strategies and instructional strategies lead summer data retreat work with school leadership team to monitor progress of at-risk work with department heads to share assessment data students lead and participate in inservice sessions participate in reviews concerning progress support monthly department head meetings provide small group/individual instruction attend CESA 6 meetings DAC meetings communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community apply knowledge of educational research, trends and best develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials practices plan organize and provide instruction based upon standards evaluate and assess student progress against objectives provide written feedback to students
