Members of Scottish Youth Parliament We are committed to ensuring young people are heard by the decision makers of Scotland and are determined to campaign on the issues which matter most to Scotland's youth .
Scottish Youth Parliament believes that every school is Scotland should have a ‘safe space’ – a dedicated quite room to used at any time during the school day by any pupil who is feeling down, anxious or distressed. Agreed 89%
Scottish Youth Parliament believes that there is a need for suicide training in Scottish high schools. Agreed 99%

Guidance/PSHE Some of the feedback from young people at the Conference on Guidance in Schools included: • “Guidance teachers should have no other teaching responsibilities – to allow them the time fulfil their role” • “Guidance should give training for pupils on how to help friends with self-harm or suicidal thoughts” • “ Lifeskills - money management, CVs, employment skills should be covered in Guidance”.

What we plan to do in January – July 2020: • Uist and Barra Young Leaders Conference • Links with schools, Youth Councils, Community Planning etc • National Campaign: “Pack it up, Pack it in” • Spring and Summer Sittings
