File Declaration of Candidacy with TNDP Office Must declare your candidate preference, pledge loyalty to Democratic Party, vote in the primary and pledge to support the Democratic nominee Allows you to indicate any of the following: African American, Hispanic, Asian Pacific Islander, Native American, LGBTQ+, Youth (under 36), or Disabled.
Congressional District Delegates (42 total) Presidential candidates must receive at least 15% of the vote to earn delegates from a given district. To participate in delegate selection, you must be a Democratic voter in the Presidential Primary, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 (early voting Feb 12-25). Must be registered to vote by February 3 to vote in primary. Voting in Primary is required to participate in delegate selection. Young voters who will be 18 by November 3, 2020 Election Day but are not 18 on March 3 are not required to vote in Primary to participate in delegate selection.
Congressional District Delegates (42 total) County Conventions take place Saturday, March 7, 2020. Primary voting is required to become a selector and vote for delegates. Selectors will be chosen in caucuses for each candidate that has earned delegates. County selectors must go to the Congressional District Convention on March 21, 2020 to elect delegates. You can attend your county convention to become a selector, but you are not required to do so.
The candidates who earn the most votes, earn the most delegates. Presidential candidates must receive at Apportionment least 15% of the primary vote in your congressional district to earn delegates. of Delegates: Your district’s delegates will be Fair Reflection apportioned based on the candidate’s of Presidential election totals, to fairly reflect how they performed in comparison to the other Preference candidates who earned over 15%. It’s possible for candidates who earn over 15% to not receive delegates. Every vote counts!

Congressional District Delegates (42 total) Tips to run your campaign: Start volunteering for your candidate now! Start volunteering with your county party now! Get to know people who are likely to become selectors! Get to know your whole congressional district, not just your county.
Congressional District Conventions Congressional District Conventions take place on March 21, 2020 in each of the 9 TN Congressional Districts. Only filed delegate candidates and county selectors may participate. Only selectors from County Conventions may vote for delegates. The Selectors from every county in the district will meet in Presidential candidate caucuses to vote.
Congressional District Conventions The locations of the Congressional District Conventions will be announced by mid February for each of the 9 TN Congressional Districts. Delegates are earned by each candidate based on their performance in each given district in the March 3, 2020 primary. Delegates will be elected in candidate caucuses made up of selectors from the counties in that district.

Declaration of Candidacy deadline is March 27, 2020. Fill in diversity categories. At-Large 14 delegates slots are apportioned based on statewide Delegates results. (14) Elected by TNDP Executive Committee Saturday, April 18, 2020. Attendance not required, but recommended.

Credentials Platform (written prior to Milwaukee Convention) DNC Standing Rules Committees 9 members total from Tennessee, 3 on each committee. Nominated by campaigns and approved by Delegation following the TNDP-EC meeting April 18, 2020.

Assigned by DNC: Crown Plaza Rosemont at Chicago O’Hare. Roommates will help Hotels reduce costs. DNC bus transportation provided to from hotel to Milwaukee for delegates with official credentials.
Each day starts with TN breakfast. Daily credentials are provided at this time. Many other events take Food place throughout the day, some of which are free. Open bars are common at many events.
