Findings from CQC’s initial programme of comprehensive inspections in adult social care ▪ Most services are good or outstanding, but a significant minority require improvement and some are inadequate. ▪ There is regional variation in quality rating. ▪ Safety and leadership are the main areas of concern. ▪ The vast majority of services are caring. ▪ Generally, community services are rated the best and residential nursing the worst. ▪ Generally smaller services are rated better than larger services.
