AHEC Purpose The purpose of AHEC is to develop and enhance educational networks (including clinical training ), to improve the distribution and diversity of health professionals who serve rural and underserved populations and can provide quality care in the context of a transforming health care system .

We GVAHEC About our UA College of Medicine students at the Wesley Center in Phoenix Future Workforce GVAHEC supports student community and clinical rotations for CHW, public health, nursing, pharmacy, dental, medical school and other programs • Provide travel stipends to students AT Still dental student leading an IPE event on Oral Cancer at the Wesley • Encourage providers to expand Center Students at the Poverty Simulation game opportunities for students • Coordinate Inter-Professional Educational (IPE) events for students and health providers • Provide an online learning platform for heath education curriculum development

Winchester Heights Farmworker Community Environmental Health Assessment Focus : Conduct an Environmental Health Assessment to aid in the construction of a Community Recreation Center Objectives : ❖ Enable community to advocate for their health needs ❖ Create a platform to allow further community driven, solution-based action ❖ Highlight gaps in necessary health data
Winchester Heights Environmental Health Assessment Outcomes: ❖ Conducted door-to-door health surveys ❖ Analyzed survey and other data highlighting key health needs ❖ EHA will provide a direction for future community health initiatives
Tohono O’odham Community College Public Health Curriculum Development Internship Objectives : Develop education curriculum that: ❖ Provides students with the tools and knowledge to identify how various organizations, positions and roles contribute to carrying out core Public Health functions ❖ Establishes pathways to health careers & related specialties Overall Project Objective Enhance partnership between SEAHEC, TOCC, and TODHHS in order to expand the Public Health workforce of the Tohono O’odham Nation
