  2. Our Mission Statement “This organization shall be known as the Student Senate of the Madison Area Technical College, representing all students enrolled for credit in post-high school divisions at all Campuses under the academic authority of Madison College.”

  3. 2019-2020 Senate Initiatives  Housing Accessibility  Advising, Retention and Counselling  Food Security

  4. Housing Accessibility Outlined the structure for a Student Housing Guide, including compiled resources from local and state entities. This structure includes but is not limited to: o Information regarding crisis response situations. Localized community housing options. o Public aid sourcing and applications. o

  5. Advising, Retention and Counselling • Provided student insight to administrators overseeing changes to student advising services. • Assisted with the implementation and advertisement of the 2019-2020 Student Satisfaction Survey.

  6. Food Security Assisted with the implementation and operation of the Madison College Food Cupboard.

  9. G o a l # 1 Housing Accessibility Now that a Student Housing Guide has been created, Senate can continue moving forward with an outline on how best to help students find housing and other low income resources.

  11. G oa l # 2 S tuden t S atisfactio n I nventor y 202 0 R evie w All degree-credit students can take the survey every two years. The survey is taken online, outside of class time and is voluntary. The SSI measures students' levels of satisfaction and priorities, indicating how satisfied students are at Madison College as well as those issues most important to them. Our results are also benchmarked against other two- year institutions nationwide.”

  13. G oa l # 3 D igita l E quity Promoting digital equity at Madison College will be a new goal for the Student Senate. This initiative will include issues related to reliable internet, access to technology, possible assistive technologies, and the support/training on how to use those technologies or programs correctly in order in achieve academic success.

  14. Create an initiative statement that will clarify the issues included in Digital Equity and lead the Senate to create action steps to address this initiative.
