  3. Earn High School AND College Credit A typical college class is worth 3 college credits Students will earn .50 high school credit for 3 college credits

  4. Possible Schedule Periods 1-3: LHS Courses Periods 4-7: Travel to Maple Woods and take college courses

  5. Details ● Cost is $91.50 per credit hour. Free for F/R. ● Transportation is provided. Student can also drive. ● May take up to 12 credit hours per semester. Minimum is 6 credit hours. Preferred is 9 credit hours. ○ One class is typically 3 hours. ○ If you choose to take only 6, you may not have transportation back to LHS.

  6. Application Process 1. Fill out the LPS Early College application located on the LHS Counseling website under P�������. 2. Fill out the MCC-Maple Woods application; www.mcckc.edu 3. Receive a qualifying test score on the ACT or Accuplacer ● ACT: 18 Composite, 22 Math, 18 English ● Accuplacer: English 101 and Math 115 placement scores 4. Qualified students will be randomly selected if we have over the allowed maximum.

  7. Testing Information ACT ● www.act.org (cost $50.50) ● See your counselor if you think you may be eligible for a fee waiver Accuplacer ● You must apply to MCC to get a student ID number. ● Testing begins at 8:30 M-F at Maple Woods. ● Call 816-604-1000 for more information. ● We may have testing opportunities available in February.
