Standards Update  CIP-002-6 Draft 1 Change Summary • Housekeeping changes ‒ “CIP-002-5.1” to “CIP-002-6” ‒ Note: The approved Interpretation has not been incorporated into this revision, so the proper designation of these Standards is “CIP-002-5.1a” and CIP-002-6a” ‒ The NERC Glossary term “Special Protection System” is obsolete and has been removed ‒ Applicability function 4.1.5, “Interchange Coordinator or Interchange Authority,” is obsolete and has been removed ‒ Section 5.0, “Effective Dates,” references the Implementation Plan ‒ [R1.v] “Special Protection Systems” changed to “Remedial Action Schemes” ‒ Section “E. Standards Update  CIP-002-6 Draft 1 Change Summary • Substantive changes: Impact Rating Criterion 2.12 ‒ CIP-002-5.1a • Each Control Center or backup Control Center used to perform the functional obligations of the Transmission Operator not included in High Impact Rating (H), above. ‒ CIP-002-6a • Control Centers or backup Control Centers, not included in High Impact Rating (H) above, that monitor and control BES Transmission Lines with an "aggregate weighted value" exceeding 6000 according to the table below. Standards Update  CIP-002-6 Implementation Plan • CIP-002-6 Effective Date: On the effective date of the order approving CIP-002-6, or 60 days after BoT approval where governmental approval is not required • Planned Changes – Initial Performance ‒ Initial performance of periodic requirements shall occur by the end of the specified period following the update of the identification and categorization of the affected BES Cyber System.
