Following up on objective 1.2 of Vanier’s 2015-2020 Strategic Plan, Support excellence and innovation in all aspects of teaching and learning , the Academic Dean’s Office offers development and support opportunities for teachers, departments and programs. This support comes in the form of release time (and/or an operational budget) for teachers with a daytime load who want to engage in Research, Pedagogical Innovation or Student Success projects.

Call f for Pr or Propo oposals  The official call for proposals for projects taking place during the 2020-2021 academic year will go out on Monday, December 12 th , 2019. - Notification by email from the Academic Dean’s Office - Application instructions and forms available on the PSI website: https://www.vaniercollege.qc.ca/psi/vanier-development-and-supportopportunities-dsos/  Questions? Contact Angela Vavassis, PSI Research Officer. - Project eligibility, application process, forms, etc.

  6. SELECT PROJECT CATEGORY DESCRIPTION FORM  Preparing the initial stages of a pedagogical research project. Planning or R1  Phase Developing a proposal for an external research grant (for pedagogical or disciplinary research). Research  Implementation Implementing a pedagogical research R2 Phase project.  Continuation Reporting on and continuing a R3 Phase pedagogical research project.  Preparing the initial stages of an Planning initiative, founded on evidence-based P1 Phase methods, to improve teaching and learning.  Implementing an initiative, founded on Pedagogical Implementation evidence-based methods, to improve P2 Innovation Phase teaching and learning.  Reporting on and continuing an Continuation initiative, founded on evidence-based P3 Phase methods, to improve teaching and learning.  Preparing the initial stages of an Planning initiative that takes place mostly S1 Phase outside the classroom (e.g., tutoring, workshops, etc.) Student  Implementing an initiative that takes Success Implementation place mostly outside the classroom S2 Phase (e.g., tutoring, workshops, etc.)  Reporting on and continuing an Continuation initiative that takes place mostly S3 Phase outside the classroom (e.g., tutoring, workshops, etc.)

For past and/or repeat DSO recipients to offer advice to current and aspiring DSO holders, based on their experiences. Par art 1: 1: Split into groups of 4 or 5 to discuss the guiding questions (3-3:30pm). Par art 2: 2: Share the outcomes of your group discussion with the larger group (3:30-4:00pm)
