  13. 2012 Torch Relay – The Facts The Torch arrives in the UK May 18 th 2012 • Day 1 - May 19 th 2012 • • 70 Days around the country • 1hrs from 95% of the population • Sponsors - Coca Cola, Lloyds TSB, Samsung, • Starts 7am (iconic sites earlier) 10 – 12hrs day • 8000 Torchbearers • 8000 miles around the UK • Majority of Torchbearers aged 12-24 • 2 modes – Running and Convoy • 14 vehicles in the Convoy • Average 120 bearers /day – 300mtrs each • 1hr lunch break • Evening events hosted by Local Authority • Final 7 days are in London • Warm up event 5-6mins before main convoy 13
