What is the League of Champions? • An Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) initiative in conjunction with MySafeWork to promote safety in industry • Create a framework for Safety Awareness in which to act as lever to help Industry Leaders (Champions) enable change in their companies and across industry • Better protection for our youth at risk and all workers through education and awareness Today we are going to start with the Construction Industry in Ontario

Introducing League of Champions Value Proposition : • Build a safety Culture in your company and industry and be recognized for your leadership • “Leaders need to Lead” Objectives : • Reach companies and leadership teams to get buy-in • Make it part of the culture • “Raise the Bar for Safety” in all industries, starting with construction • Create sustainable funding to support the initiative

The Principles of the Employee Champion Safety Charter are: • Champions will personally participate in improving safety performance to meet world class standards. • Champions will work together to find new ideas and innovations for safety strategies. • Champions will be responsible for transferring knowledge and experience to the next generation / our youth at risk and families in local communities.

The Principles of the Employer Champion Safety Charter are: • Facilitating and encouraging staff to personally participate in improving safety performances to meet world class standards. • Encourage new ideas & innovations for Safety strategies within organization and industry – “Raise the Bar for Safety”. • Ensure accumulated safety knowledge & practical experience is transferred to current employees, the next generation / our youth at risk, their families and local communities. • Commit to actively participate in and promote at external events the League of Champions on a yearly basis (minimum). • Demonstration of doing safety “above the bar”. • Commitment to maintain and strive for a safe work record corporately. • Commit to the League of Champions by signing Safety Charter
