Closing the Gap : Project Lead The Way Project Lead the Way is a non-profit organization that works with schools to engage students with technology curriculum that emphasizes problem solving and computational thinking. This year, LaVenture is offering Computer Science for Innovators and Makers – a course that includes designing, coding and building real-life applications and objects that solve real- world problems. This course is a technology elective class which also falls under CTE and STEM.

Closing the Gap : Intensified Algebra Daily Lessons are broken into five parts: Opener (~10 minutes) core activity (~30 minutes) consolidation activity (~25 minutes) homework (~10 minutes) staying sharp (done at home and reviewed as part of homework) Curriculum is designed for student engagement. (core and consolidation activities are usually done with partners or in small groups) Each unit has a growth mindset lesson built in. extremely important and valuable for my students!
