He searched unsuccessfully, realising that the Italian market didn't offer this type of service; for this reason he decided to set up l & tc. Today, l & tc works in four warehouses in the centre of Italy: the headquarter is in Perugia whereas other plants are situated in Florence, Acqualagna and Montegranaro near the main luxury industry areas of production in Italy, with good connections to the best business routes. A new facility is opening in Padova at the end of 2015, while new locations in the North West of Italy are already planned. 2

Each service is subject to standard procedures, but we usually create specific services on demand of our clients. This highly customized level is possible thanks to our internal IT team which, through the years together with our operational teams, has developed flexible and cost-effective procedures. For this reason, we are able to adapt our services to different requests, always trying to give the right answer to any need. 9
RFID Following technological development is one of our focal points and in 2008 we started to consider RFID technology with great interest. Since then, we have been working very hard in order to apply this system in our warehouses, to solve the main problems in handling the goods and to improve our performance and our way of working. After a long study, in 2010 we finally started to use the RFID system to manage the whole logistic cycle of some clients of ours, greatly improving in all areas, at the same time. Thanks to RFID, it’s possible to: • Significantly reduce time of control, thanks to multiple and simultaneous reading. • Increase security guarantee, thanks to the uniqueness of every tag. • Exponentially increase the possibilities offered by the barcode system. After having achieved a deep confidence in using RFID inside our warehouses, we understood that RFID would express its whole potential only when every supply chain actor used this technology in their manufacturing or production. From this idea, we studied a specific RFID project dedicated to the retailer. RFID, indeed, is a big opportunity also for them because it can improve every single process inside the shop: from control on the goods received at the shop up to the anti-shoplifting security control, to inventory to customer’s shopping experience. Today, l & tc is the one of the best logistics companies in Italy that can offer this level of competency, in using RFID technology. 10

WAREHOUSE MANAGERIAL SYSTEM (WMS): LOGICA l & tc uses a managerial system called Logica, developed internally which is able to interface with any ERP system. Logica is client/server developed for Windows operating systems (ver. XP, Vista, Seven, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012) that uses the Microsoft SQL Server DBMS. The application resides on a server and is configured for use on individual workstations. The application also gives the possibility of activating modules for managing RFID. We can provide you with daily real-time control mechanisms, to make this part of your management not only less time consuming, but also more efficient and more effective, leaving you more time to concentrate on what is most important to bring in profits. Besides our standard reports, special visibility reports and tracking reports can be developed to aid the control of your merchandise stock levels and their movements. With our systems, the inventory can be checked daily. 12
SECURITY l & tc security is ensured by multiple systems of controls which allow our clients to benefit from the maximum security levels. Externally, all of our facilities have a multitude of sensors and barriers to protect against any attempt of illegally intrusion. Internally other kinds of sensors and barriers are used to reinforce the external protection. Cameras are strategically positioned all around the buildings, to ensure complete video surveillance. In addition, our systems are connected 24hrs with a private security company nearby, allowing us to protect the goods of our customers from any attempt of theft. OUR TEAM The l & tc management is composed of managers with great experience in managing and developing the logistic processes and in other business areas.
