  7. WORLDVIEW DEVELOPMENT • Develops between 15-18 months and 13 yrs of age • By age 13 develop lifelong characteristics: • Moral foundations • Theological foundations • Faith commitments • Priorities and habits

  10. The Impact of the Home Only 5% of parents of 5-to-13 year old children have a biblical worldview 95% of parents of 5- to-13 year old children have a non- biblical worldview

  11. PARENT RESPONSIBILITY Christian parents: 87% believe they are responsible for the spiritual & moral development of their children. Only 33% claimed the church & faith influenced their parenting ideas and actions. Only 50% mentioned anything related to their faith as having a significant influence on how they raised their children.

  12. The Impact of the Church The Monday morning question: How many did we have? The 2nd question seldom asked: How often do they come? The reality: Average child attends 1.4 times per month!

  13. The Impact of the School Only 3% of children are in Christian schools/ homeschools 9% of children are in secular private education 88% of children are in secular public education

CONCLUSIONS • A child develops his/her worldview between 15-18 months and 13 yrs of age • The primary parenting generation for this age group is the Millennial generation • Millennial generation is fast becoming the primary teaching generation in Christian schools • Only 1 out of 25 Millennials possess a biblical worldview • One can only give (plant) what one possesses and will harvest what one plants
