WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD? It may not be what you’re thinking!
THE KINGDOM OF POWER “in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17)
“the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (1 Corinthians 10:26) “all authority in heaven and earth” belongs to Jesus (Matthew 28:18) “there is no authority except from God” (Romans 13:1)
THE KINGDOM OF GRACE Holy Baptism Holy Communion Holy Scriptures The Holy Spirit’s work in and through the Church through His means of grace.
The Kingdom of Grace is mysterious, hidden, and seemingly weak. “Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Mark 10:15)
What is the kingdom of God like? (Luke 13:18-20) It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches .” It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.” (Luke 13:18-20)
THE KINGDOM OF GLORY
THE HEAVENLY KINGDOM OF GLORY IS. . . • Where God’s will is done perfectly. • Where Jesus ascended to and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. • Where the souls of believers now live until the resurrection of the body. • The “place” (John 14:3) Jesus is preparing for believers to live with resurrected bodies for all eternity.
