  5. Bibs, D-Tags and Timing Each registered participant receives a “Bib” • with a “Bib Number” and a “D - Tag”. The “Bib Number” is how we track them in • our timing system in the “Family Reunion/Kid Pick Up Area” after the race with our “Claim Ticket System”. The “D - Tag” is what gives the participant • their actual race time. The “D - Tag” and “Claim Ticket” are on the • front of the bib. The “Bib” must be affixed to the front of • the participant’s shirt – no child (or adult) will be allowed into the Kids Staging Area without a “Bib” affixed to the front of their shirt.

  6. Affix D-Tag to Shoe For an accurate time, the child Must • Remove The D-TAG from the BIB and AFFIX IT SECURELY to their shoe. No D-Tag on Shoe = No Time! • Timing starts when the participant crosses • the start line, so no need to push or jockey to the front. This also means that the order they cross • the finish line May Not Be The Same As The Posted Results . Please watch the YouTube Video we posted • at www.kidsruntheoc.org under the Event Day tab for instructions on how to attach the D-Tag to the shoe.

  7. Picking Up Your Child Please fill out the back of the bib with • your child’s emergency contact information (including cell number). Please remove the “Claim Tags” to be able • to retrieve your child in the Kid Pick Up/Family Reunion Area. After your child has finished their race, • they will enter a secure area to receive fluids and snacks and proceed to the secure Family Reunion/Kid Pick Up Area and be sorted according to bib number. Parents should proceed to the Parent • Waiting Lines and follow the directions of the security guides to retrieve their child in a civilized and safe manner.

  8. Race Day Planning Review all maps and plan your route to the OC • Fair & Event Center Know how to contact your coach or their • designated volunteer for Race Day information Have a plan in place PRIOR to race day if you • get separated from one another Volunteer to help OC Marathon event staff • and/or your coach on race day Remember your $8.00 Parking Fee CASH ONLY • Make sure your child hydrates well the day • before and up to an hour prior to their event.
