Statutory Courses ALL students will study: ■ English Language and English Literature (2 GCSEs) ■ Mathematics (1 GCSE) ■ Science (up to 3 GCSEs) ■ Religious Education (1 GCSE) ■ Physical Education (also can be an option) ■ Life Skills (includes Citizenship, Careers & PSHCE) This can lead to 7 GCSEs

Time to choose your other 3 subjects Think about: ■ new challenges and opportunities ■ previous success ■ types of assessment ■ what you enjoy ■ future career options (but not too much………) Do NOT consider: ■ what your friends are planning to do ■ which teachers you like this year

  10. What is the EBacc? Should I do this? The ‘English Ebacc’ is not a qualification in itself, but represents achieving a qualification in: ■ English Language & Literature ■ Maths ■ Science (triple or combined) ■ A Modern Foreign Language ■ Geography or History

  15. No…. We will do our very best to offer every student the courses they select, but…. ● Some combinations of subjects might not fit into the timetable. If there is a ‘clash’, you will need to select a different course.

  24. Remember to….. ■ Ask questions, talk to your parents, teachers, tutors and students in Years 10 & 11 ■ Complete your Options Form by 7th February at the latest! It is NOT ‘first come, first served’, but if your form is LATE you may not get all of your choices!
