Katiou Foundation The main goal of the Katiou Foundation is to defend and better the conditions of vulnerable people in Africa and particularly in Burkina Faso. The foundation is mainly focused on children and women, with a special attention drawn to education, health, and finding clues for the KATIOU FOUNDATION wellbeing of the people we are targeting.
Main objectives How is Katiou Foundation acting concretely to support education and health in Burkina Faso ? - Building mainly primary schools. - Building libraries for students. - Building and providing equipment for professional learning centers for women. KATIOU FOUNDATION - Building secondary classrooms. - Sponsoring children, and enabling them to pursue studies in secondary schools. - Digging wells to provide access to drinking water.
Official information Foundation Katiou was created on January 13th, 2011 in Madrid. Its founders, however, had been working actively many years before its official existence. It was registered by ministerial Order in March 24th, 2011 as a foundation whose purpose is cooperation on development and assistance in social inclusion. The Katiou Foundation is formally registered KATIOU FOUNDATION with the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social policies and Equality under the number 28- 1633, and is since 2015 registered with the Ministry of Education, culture and Sports. The Katiou Foundation’s Fiscal Identification Code (CIF) is G86143567.
Pamnoghin Primary school First steps of the Foundation : Building the primary school of Pamnoghin, District of Komsilga, Burkina Faso. The school was entirely built with funds donated by M. and Mrs Friggit and inaugurated on November 10th, 2009. In the middle, former Mayor of Komsilga, Julien Nonguierma
2012 : Primary School of Dawanegomde, District of Komsilga A new school was built following the example of Pamnoghin primary school. The school has 3 classrooms, an office, a storage room and four outdoor separated latrines for boys and girls. It also features a well offering all villagers pure drinking water. More than 200 children of age 5 to 14 attend this school.
2012-2013 Tribute to Ismael Dakyo The Katiou foundation supports the work of ISANABA ( a French Secondary School of association), created in tribute to Ismael Dakyo, who died on October Sanaba 18th, 2008 of a cardiac arrest, during a basketball competition in Saint-Laurent-de-Brèvendent, Le Havre. ISANABA donated a sports complex to the village of Sanaba, and still contributes to the development of the village in association with ADCS, a local association. The Katiou Foundation built two high school classrooms within the public secondary school. It enables pupils, specially young girls to pursue school in Sanaba, to avoid travelling 50 km daily. The nearest high school is in Dédougou. ISANABA and Manos Unidas (a Spanish association) built the remaining two classrooms. Each classroom can welcome up to 80 pupils.

• 2013 July 2013 Summer Camp Summer Camp July 2013 The summer camp initially planned to welcome 50 to 60 children of age 12 to 18, but ended up doubling its turnout thanks to its reputation. Unfortunately many more children were turned away because of safety procedures.

The Spanish Federation of Rugby supports the project of the Foundation Katiou. It goes along with its social responsibility policy. During the three competitions of February 8 and March 8, the federation will join the initiative of the Katiou Foundation and the club XV Hortaleza R.C., to gather sports footwear that will be sent to Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries of the planet. “We want to offer all our support to this type of joint initiatives. We invite all our fans to bring their old shoes in the space that will be allocated to that purpose in the stadium", said Javier Gonzalez Cancho, president of the FER. “Spanish rugby expresses its solidarity and we are grateful to the Foundation Katiou and to the club XV Hortaleza that gave us the opportunity to be part of this action. ”
• 2014 Books and tables donated by the LFM (French Lycee of Madrid). Building and furnishing a Cyber- library in the District of Komsilga, 10 computers donated by the allowing more than 1000 pupils Group Santander. to easily access books and computers. The Cyber-Library was built by Spanish architect Albert Faus Madrid who won a prize in 2014 thanks to this brilliant achievement.

• 2014 Summer Camp - July 2014 78 pupils participated to this second edition, supervised by 30 adults. Some successful activities were resumed (team games, dance, theatre, painting). Classes of local languages as Diula were integrated in the programme. It revealed to be useful and successful for the young adults coming from Europe. To celebrate the success of this summer camp the pupils offered a great show to the villagers and to the official delegation represented by Mayor Julien Nonguierma. Summer camp July 2014

Thanks to a few friends of the Foundation we KATIOU FOUNDATION are about to offer villagers clean drinking water.

Supporting secondary school Maya Angelou by sponsoring disadvantaged children “ Lycee Maya Angelou” is a private but committed secondary school, fighting to make high school accessible to all. We are seeking sponsorship to help the school survive. Internships are available for girls, but few of them can access the school. KATIOU FOUNDATION The school was built in 2012-2013 in tribute to the American activist, poet and writer, who fought all her life to make Education a simple reality for all . 2018 PROJECT Construction of a health center in Pamnoghin. Nowadays, there is no primary health center nearby Pamnoghin, forcing the population to travel a long distance (around 10 kilometers) to reach the nearest hospital, or even go to capital.
