  1. July 5, 2020 Please prepare communion elements for today’s gathering.

  2. Glory be to the Father And to the Son And to the Holy Ghost As it was in the beginning, Is now and ever shall be, World without end! Amen, amen

  3. Call to Worship (our ancient writings usher us into this ritual) Why do we worship? Daniel 7:13-14 As I watched in the night visions I saw one like the Son of Man, Coming on the clouds of heaven. And He came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. To the Son of Man was given by the Ancient of Days: Dominion and glory and kingship, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, His kingship is one that will never be destroyed.

  4. The Lord be with you And also with you. Lifu up your hearts We lifu them up to God.

  5. Psalm 37:1-11 Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

  6. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there. But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.

  13. Speak O Lord Speak O Lord as we come to You To receive the food of Your holy word Take Your truth plant it deep in us Shape and fashion us in Your likeness That the light of Christ might be seen today In our acts of love and our deeds of faith Speak O Lord and fulfill in us All Your purposes for Your glory.

  14. Teach us Lord full obedience Holy reverence true humility Test our thoughts and our attitudes In the radiance of Your purity Cause our faith to rise Cause our eyes to see Your majestic love and authority Words of power that can never fail Let their truth prevail over unbelief.

  15. Speak O Lord and renew our minds Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us Truths unchanged from the dawn of time That will echo down through eternity And by grace we’ll stand On Your promises And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us Speak O Lord till Your church is built And the earth is filled with Your glory.

  16. Confession (we approach God, repenting from sin) Heidelberg Catechism, Questions 47-48 47. Q. But isn’t Christ with us until the end of the world, as he promised us? A. Christ is true human and true God. In his human nature Christ is not now on earth; but in his divinity, majesty, grace, and Spirit he is never absent from us. 48. Q. If his humanity is not present wherever his divinity is, then aren’t the two natures of Christ separated from each other? A. Certainly not. Since divinity is not limited and is present everywhere, Christ’s divinity is surely beyond the bounds of the humanity that has been taken on, but at the same time his divinity is in and remains personally united to his humanity.

  17. Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

  18. Dear Father, Like Adam & Eve in the garden, we try to hide from you and your sanctifying work. We act as if you do not see our sins, we worry as if you are not in control, and we neglect the reading of your Word. Forgive us for clinging to our brokenness! Help us to seek your face in the Scripture, and cause it to change us in our deepest, darkest parts through the power of the Holy Spirit. Expose our wickedness so that we can turn to you for forgiveness and grace. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen. Silence

  19. Absolution What does Christ promise us in Ezekiel 36? I will sprinkle clean water on you We will be clean from all our filthiness I will wash you from all your idols We will get a new heart I will put a new spirit inside you We will get rid of our stony hearts I will give you a heart of flesh We will have Your Spirit inside us I will cause you to walk in My commands We will keep Your laws and do them You will be My people, and I will be your God You will save us from all our sin

  20. 21. Let us bless the Lord! Praise Him with highest praise! What sort of church are we seeking God to make us? Acts 2:42-45 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
