INTRODUCTION OF ASTI • The Association of Science Technology and Innovation (ASTI) is an association of educators, scientists, industry representatives and individuals who are committed to advancing the role of the scientific community in inspiring the youth of the nation to join and excel in the world of science. • ASTI also tries to use Science, Technology and Innovation for the advancement of mankind and protection of the environment that nourishes us all. ASTI also believes that STI are part of the wider realm of knowledge such as art, history, languages and others. • ASTI was set up by the founders of Science Fair for Young Children (SFYC) on the 25 October 2012 3
ASTI’S VISION & MISSION To be the premier Malaysian Association for the ASTI promotion of education and understanding of Scientific knowledge, Technological advancement and Innovational vision projects in both Malaysia and the world . The Association of Science Technology and Innovation (ASTI) provides leadership in scientific education and ASTI technical support to improve and grow awareness in all areas of science through the generation, dissemination, mission and exchange of information and services. 4

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS OF YIC Among the many achievements of running YIC for the past7 consecutive years are: The phenomenal participation growth which includes international schools from Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Timor Leste and China In 2017-2019, YIC received international recognition from the Malaysian Ministry of Education. 10

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS OF YIC YIC managed to get into media coverage for YIC Young Inventors Challenge project has been 2019 at National and International News Papers shortlisted for Reimagine Education Awards in and Television News. London, U.K. Young Inventors Challenge project has been shortlisted for Reimagine Education Awards for K-12 category. K-12 Category seeks any innovative new pedagogical approach, technological tool, or employability-enhancing endeavour that was targeted at, or is designed for, the K12 sector. However, such projects should also either be scalable to a higher education audience, or prepare students for higher education more successfully than current approaches allow. 12
