  1. ONE Mission ONE Voice ONE Organization Integrated Option

  2. UNITY The profession needs unity now to defend the PE license, exactly like it did at the founding to enact PE licensure in all states. If PE licensure is eroded in just one state, even the smallest state, the tide could turn in every state. https://www.nspe.org/resources/issues-and-advocacy/action- issues/threats-professional-licensure

  3. Primary Business Objectives Value to Members • Add value to member at the local, state, and national levels • Increase communications qualitatively (more over all offerings) and quantitatively (more frequent) • End confusion of pricing and processes • Provide the best experience technology and customer service can offer

  4. Primary Business Objectives Value to State Societies • Lessen administrative tasks • Reduce cost of state society operations • Lower risks • Improve efficiencies • Benefit from economy of scale • Allow state staff to focus on creating value for the member

  5. Primary Business Objectives Value to NSPE • Provide similar good customer experience across all states • Improve efficiencies • Produce better outcomes • Ease of portability of membership between state societies • Grow membership and increase member retention • Stronger branding

  6. Integrated ONE Mission, ONE Voice, ONE Organization • NSPE as a whole will be more effective, • We unify and focus NSPE on the challenges that the profession faces. • We end the fragmentation and confusion created by state only membership, • We heal past operational issues and decisions and recommit to the unity of NSPE as designed in the mission in 1934 and moving the organization forward, and • We stand together and face obstacles as a single force,

  7. Integrated ONE Mission, ONE Voice, ONE Organization Membership = $299 in every state • States provided distribution based on their capacity for providing services • NSPE fills in the gaps with additional services and provides economy of scale in large efforts such as billing, data management, and website management. • States take on responsibilities based on the tier assigned, higher tiers have more responsibilities – and receive more revenue.

  8. Impact in New York

  9. Impact in New York Current Membership dues for NY is $373 of which the split is NYSSPE $219 and NSPE $154 Of the NYSSPE $219 piece - $25 per member currently goes to the chapters. Capacity/NSPE Service Package State Distribution National Distribution Lower /Full Service $60 $239 $110 $189 Moderate / Premium $160 $139 Moderate – high /Standard $210 $89 High/Basic

  10. Impact in New York NYSSPE was placed in the High capacity tier. Member Impact Current member dues total $373 (NYSSPE receives $219) Members dues will be decrease $74. And still receive the same value. Society Impact As part of the integrated model NYSSPE would receive $9 less per member, chapters will continue to receive $25 per member. HOWEVER we believe membership numbers can be increased at this lower price and look forward to encouraging former members to rejoin.

  12. National Value

  13. National Value Customer Service: NSPE staff are currently providing billing and customer service for 42 states. Access: We are improving access to data for state leaders and staff, including a project so local staff has all the necessary information at hand to serve members, answer their questions and help do things like update contact data, take payment over the phone, and help reset passwords. Economy of scale: National has economy of scale for high level technology, design, printing, mailing, branding, and national level advocacy. Content: NSPE is able to curate information across the states and provide trends analysis and information to members. Provide educational opportunities across the nation.

  15. Branding & Communications These activities already exist on some level. Not much change for NY here.

  16. If we elect to adopt the new dues structure, as some point in the future, we will need to decide if we change our existing branding such as our website address and email accounts to match the National formats.
