Summer RIS ISE Highlights • Career exploration experience for rising MCPS juniors and seniors • Jumpstart student thinking about a career • July 8-July 26, 20 hours a week, 30 hours maximum per week, 60 hours total (flexible schedule 7:00 am-6:00 pm) • Led by the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Partnerships Unit in collaboration with businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Summer RIS ISE Overview • Cultivates a talent pipeline for high-paying, high-demand jobs • Exposes the business/organization to the enthusiasm, creativity, and innovative ideas of students • Provides an enriching career-based educational experience • Teaches students about the different departments in a business/organization

Host Requirements • Read the 2019 Summer RISE Host Agreement • Agree to a site visit to review safety check list • Submit the registration form by April 15 • Hosts with more than one department or location will be sent a spreadsheet • View the MCPS Child Abuse and Neglect Video https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/childabuseandneglect/reportingchildabuse/story_ html5.html • Attend an orientation session which will be listed on a Summer RISE timeline

  12. Host Requirements (c (contin inued) • Complete a program evaluation at the end of the program • Save the date for a July 26 celebration • Stay in touch with the Summer RISE program office to enhance the career pathways of students

  16. Student Support • Acquire free professional attire if needed from A Wider Circle • Obtain Ride On bus and Metro fare cards if funded • Receive a $300.00 stipend for program completion

  17. Student Requirements • Be available every day of the program July 8-26 • Attend a mandatory professional skills training and financial literacy workshop • Complete weekly reflections and an end of the program survey • Check emails regularly
