TCC4 Handling equipment • TCC4 gallery is equipped wit h a radiat ion hard underslung crane. The very limited space and saf ety aspects make the crane quite complicated. • Main parameters: – Maxi working load of t he main hoist : 7.5 T corresponding t o t he weight of t he heaviest CERN shielding blocks – Maxi working load of t he auxiliary hoist : 5 T – Theoret ical posit ioning precision: +/ - 2.5 mm – Slope: 5.66 % (ident ical t o t he beam slope and TCC4 f loor) – St ainless st eel rails and racks – One video camera f ixed on t he main hoist chariot November 2003 CERN - S. Horn exchange installation sequences 1- The spare horn is brought t o t he j unct ion chamber, picked up by t he crane and inst alled on t he adj ust able f eet (posit ioning t olerance: r = 50 mm) 2- The horn alignment can be checked, if necessary, at t his st age. Bot h horns are supposed t o be ident ical t o +/ - 0.5 mm t olerances. 3- The shielding is re-inst alled, except f or t he block(s) in f ront t he FCS. 4- From t he passageway, slide st ripline 1 upst ream by 100 mm and f ine adj ust t o t he exact posit ion of t he horn. 5- The f ive nut s of t he FCS are t ight ened. 6- The shielding blocks are placed in posit ion in f ront of t he FCS . 7- I n t he t rench, out side t he shielding t he link sect ion is reinst alled . 8- The cooling wat er f lexible t ube is re-connect ed November 2003 CERN - S.
