In More Detail Derbyshire County Council • Clinical Commissioning Groups will take on most of the PCTs current responsibilities • NHS Commissioning Board will hold CCGs to account • Public Health England will be created within DoH – Health Protection – Intelligence and Information – Administer Public Health Grant (including Health Premium) • County Council – Responsible for health improvement and reducing health inequalities – Some treatment services – Oversight of commissioning – Will receive ring fenced Public Health Grant – Must establish Health and Wellbeing Board
Health and Wellbeing Boards - Role Derbyshire County Council • Joint Strategic Needs Assessment • Joint Health and Wellbeing • Emphasis on Joint Commissioning and integrated provision between health and social care • Ensure that CCGs commissioning plans are in line with the Strategy • Lead on public involvement • Committee of the County Council • Subject to statutory arrangements for scrutiny
