  3. Executive board and committees The Executive Board and Committees... Provide you with important information about new ● policies and procedures from the district or State. Are your voice in collaborative decisions made with ● the administrative team. Set up meetings and opportunities for members to ● engage with legislators. Negotiate and enforce the contract. ● Set up fundraisers and events to connect you with ● other people in the district and to give back to our schools.

  4. Building reps Building Reps can help you… Overcome obstacles, problem solve, or get you in touch ● with people who help. Understand the evaluation process and observation ● cycles. Be heard in meetings where you feel uncomfortable. ●

  5. IEA/NEA The organization helps you by: Fighting to protect your pension. ● Providing legal representation for you. ● Lobbying on behalf of you, other members, and our ● students. Communicating important information about laws and ● policies that affect education. Providing professional development both in person and ● online. Offering member benefits for goods, services, and ● credit cards.

  6. Building meetings Meetings are after school on the second Monday of every ● month. (Note: It is on Tuesday if there is no school on the second Monday.) You will receive updates about what is going on in the ● district and state, and building reps ask for feedback which guides our work. Please attend! ●

  7. negotiations Toward the end of this academic year, building reps will ● be gathering feedback that our team will bring into negotiations next year. If you are interested in being a part of the negotiation ● team, please contact John Langelund. We would like to start meeting this year.

  8. Get involved There are SO many ways to be involved! You can work on a committee, be a building rep, or get involved in the legislative work that we do. If you would like to learn more about the different ways to get involved, please contact Eileen Duhig-Larson.
