ARM Group We have Engineers, Geologists, & Scientists that help take care of the Earth by making sure things are built and taken care of properly. Engineers like to design things for people to build. Geologists like doing things with ROCKS , SOIL and WATER . Scientists like doing things with animals, plants, and the areas they live in.
CONSERVATION means to save or protect from harm. The people at the Centre County Conservation District work together with people (like ARM Group) to help protect the water and soil from bad things happening to them.
WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT? Humans need it to drink, to make food, and to clean to help us stay healthy.
WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT? Water is also what makes our streams, rivers, lakes and oceans. There are lots of things that people can do in the water, like swim or go fishing
WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT? Animals need water to survive…
WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT? Some animals, like Look at the frogs and turtles, lay frog’s eggs in the water! their eggs in or near water (like streams & ponds).
WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT? Water is important for plants to grow. They need water produce the flower, as well as fruits and vegetables that we eat.
WHERE DOES WATER COME FROM? THE WATER CYCLE
THE WATER CYCLE COLLECTION The water cycle starts with a body of water, like ocean, a lake, a river or stream. Water collects in these areas. But the sun can be hot, and will warm it up. DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WATER GETS HOT?
THE WATER CYCLE When water gets hot, it creates steam! Some adults call it EVAPORATION .
THE WATER CYCLE When the steam get’s to the sky, it starts to cool down. The water then turns into clouds. We call this CONDENSATION .
THE WATER CYCLE Sometimes the clouds have so much water in them, they can’t hold on to it anymore. The water come back down to Earth as RAIN , SNOW or HAIL We call this PRECIPITATION .
THE WATER CYCLE When the water come back to earth, it has a job to do. A lot of times, that job is to make its way back to the ocean, lake or stream it came from. Once it’s makes it back, the WATER CYCLE starts all over again. Condensation Precipitation Evaporation Collection
