Tile replacement – Marlow House Can the existing tiles be repaired? The below repair was built up using Sika products 610 and 615, once this had cured tinted stone restoration coatings were applied. The repair could not achieve a smooth enough finish to replicate the existing and would have required a redecoration cycle to be implemented to maintain; therefore replacement tiles were sought
Tile replacement – Marlow House Tile replacement – ‘Off the shelf’ Several ‘off the shelf’ tiles were sourced based on a small sample taken from Marlow House. Design works H&E Smith Whilst these provided a close match it was not felt that they were close enough to be submitted to Westminster City Council for approval. A bespoke tile service was then sought.
Tile replacement – Marlow House Tile replacement – Bespoke The below shows bespoke tinted tiles produced by H&E Smith, these are predominately indoor tiles but are dip treated in a silicon solution to allow outside use. Two colours have been proposed and presented to Westminster Planning for final decision, these have been installed to the end of Caernarvon House.
