  6.  UC schools require SAT Reasoning Test or ACT with Writing  SAT subject tests are not required, but optional if you want to demonstrate mastery  Cal State schools require SAT Reasoning Test or ACT  Private schools typically accept SAT Reasoning Test or ACT with writing, but it is advised that you contact the specific college. Some may also require the SAT Subject Tests.  CA Community Colleges do not require any of these exams for acceptance.

  7.  Juniors should consider taking the SAT and/or the ACT beginning in Spring of their junior year.
