What are they? • Several different Google Ad certification exams. • Sales, shopping, mobile sites etc. • Google Ads- online advertising service where advertisers pay to display brief advertisements. • Google Analytics- analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic.
How Analytics Works • Google Analytics puts lines of tracking code into the code of your website. • The code records activities and attributes of your users when they visit your website • Then sends all that information to the Google Analytics server once the user exits your website. • Data that can be collected: • User Acquisition Data: data about your users before they visit your website • User Behavior Data: data about your users when they visit your website (how long they stayed, where they came from)
How Ads Works • Google Ads runs on pay-per-click (ppc) which means you only pay when a visitor clicks on your ad. • Keywords • Wide range of targeting • People google everything • Advertising to people who are looking for something specific • Choose own budget, and campaign
Landing Page • Very important to Google • When a user clicks on your ad, the experience the website has to offer affects your Ad Rank, CPC (cost per click) and position in the ad auction. • Your ads may show less often if your website offers a poor user experience.
