Childhood On September 12, 1847 George Grant was born. He was born in Montgomery Alabama. He then soon moved to Oswego, New Hampshire. His parents were slaves and his grandparents were slaves. He lived the rest of his life in Oswego, New Hampshire. He died in 1910.
Family members He had 3 children named, May belle Grant, George F . Grant jr. , Frances Grant, and his wife's name was Helene Grant. His mom's name was Phillis Pitt.
Education He went to Harvard School Of Medicine. He had become a Boston dentist. He then took a position in mechanical dentistry . He soon became the first African American professor at Harvard.
Why so important The golf tee replaced the cup, sand, and mud. When you hit the ball most likely it wouldn't hit if you used the sand and mud.
