He even grew his own garden when he was only 7 years old in a near by woods with dead plants. He couldn't work in the fields, so he worked in the garden with his step-mother.He learned how to work with plants so well that people would go to his house and ask for him to come to their homes and help them in the garden once their plants started to dye.
George carver loved art. When he was young he did not know what art was until he went to help a old lady next door, Mrs. Baynham since her roses were dying. She went inside and George Carver wondered what the inside of her house looked like. So he went inside and saw paintings all over the house. After that he ran home and smashed berries into a paste and used his finger to paint on a rock.
George ran away to Neosho since he couldn't go to school. He couldn't go to school because there wasn't a school for 8 miles. When he got there he had to sleep on hay and eat wild berries. In the morning Mariah and Andy Watkins took in and treated him like there own son. He wanted to learn about rain, hail, and how the world works.
