BUT WE HAVE TO DO THIS, NOT JUST FOR OURSELVES, BUT FOR OTHERS TOO S TAY I N G H O M E R E D U C E S T H E S P R E A D O F T H E V I R U S
THINGS YOU CAN DO FOR A BETTER ‘STAY - HOME’ EXPERIENCE G E T R E A DY TO TA K E S O M E N OT E S
STEP 1: • Wake up by 7.30am each weekday HAVE A • Freshen up (brush your teeth, REGULAR shower) DAILY • Have your breakfast ROUTINE • Report for FT Check-in at 8am • Check for announcements on SLS regarding your lessons.
• Follow your HBL timetable STEP 1: – Your ft will be sending you a detailed HAVE A timetable at the end of every week REGULAR (for the following week) which DAILY indicates the time slot for your LIVE lessons (indicated as Y) ROUTINE
• Be on-task and complete all STEP 1: assigned work. HAVE A • If you are unwell and cannot do REGULAR your assignments, inform your DAILY parents to Whatsapp your form ROUTINE teacher. You will need to complete your assignments within 3 days.
Observe the ground rules set by the school and subject teachers. WHEN DO (a) speak politely/respectfully, ATTENDING (b) be in a quiet part of your home (eg. not lying on the bed, not in the toilet, etc). ‘LIVE’ (c) participate actively in the HBL lessons. LESSONS (d) complete tasks to the best of your ability. (e) be dressed appropriately (eg. not in pyjamas or going shirtless -- for boys) DON’T (a) eat or snack during sessions (b) play online games
STEP 2: • After every hour, get up from your TAKE sitting position and have a stretch BREAKS • Have a glass of water • During the break in your timetable, get something light to eat • After any online activity, give your eyes a short 1-2 minutes break by looking out the window at a distant object/doing eye massages
STEP 3: • It’s easy to forget to drink water DON’T when you’re at home FORGET • Have a cup of water or water TO bottle with you at your study area HYDRATE • Drink some water every hour YOURSELF
STEP 4: • Humans are social beings who need to INTERACT interact with others WITH • Once you’re done with your HBL, have short conversations with friends and OTHERS family members over the mobile FROM/AT phone (better if they are video calls) HOME – DO NOT physically gather with people other than people in your own household • Take the lead and organise family activities at home (e.g. use your NFS knowledge to cook for/with your family)
STEP 5: • Physical activity is important for GET SOME your overall well-being EXERCISE • After your HBL for the day, do some exercises at home. You could follow one of the many workout videos being posted online • DO NOT go to crowded places and DO NOT meet in groups to socialise/play sports
STEP 7: • You’ll be done with HBL by latest 2pm ENGAGE IN each day MEANINGFUL • After your lunch and a short (less than 40 minutes) nap, you could engage in ACTIVITIES some meaningful activities, such as… – Read a book – Keep a journal/diary reflecting on your ‘stay - home’ experience (hardcopy or an online blog/Instagram posts, etc.) – Clean your room/help out with some chores at home – Play games with family members – Watch a good movie/TV series
IF YOU NEED HELP… • Need someone to talk to about personal issues or concerns? – Reach out to your Form T eacher (call/message/Google Meet) – Call/message a friend or speak with a family member • Feeling bored and lonely at home? – Call/message a friend or have a video call with them (they might be looking for someone to interact with too) – Find time and arrange activities to interact with family members • Experiencing technical difficulties with SLS/Google Meet/Zoom? – Let your Form T eacher know during FT Check-in or drop them a message – Let the relevant subject teacher know – Call General Office at 62884159 or email helpdesk at peicai_ss@moe.edu.sg or • Not sure how to complete your HBL for a particular subject? – Let your subject teacher know by dropping them a message/arrange a Google Meet

AND EVEN WHEN YOU DO LEAVE YOUR HOME, STAY ALONE O R AT M O S T B E W I T H P E O P L E F R O M YO U R OW N H O U S E H O L D
SOME ACCEPTABLE REASONS TO LEAVE HOME • Need to go to food outlet to buy food (no dine-in, only takeaways) • Need to go to the market/supermarket/grocery store to buy household items (avoid peak periods) • Not feeling well and need to visit the clinic • T o take your pet for a walk/to the vet • T o get a hair cut
SOME UNACCEPTABLE AND IRRESPONSIBLE EXCUSES TO LEAVE HOME • T o meet friends to hangout • T o meet friends to play sports • T o get your hair permed/coloured (hairdressers and salons are not allowed to do these from 7 Apr – 4 May)
