  5. The FROG Worldwide QNPC Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 5

  6. Mission ▌ The FROG mission is dedicated to building strong and efficient teaming for mutual co-operation, assistance, and sharing of its Members' experience and expertise, to support the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of its Members' nuclear power units. Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 6

  7. Objectives ► Constitute a forum for utilities and also designer to exchange on all aspects of operating experience ► Provide a mechanism for identifying and resolving generic issues through effective channels established between utilities, designer, and other organizations ► Provide cost/delay effective resolution of generic problems ► Allow any member to participate to development programs ► Set an organization for exchanging operating experience with similar Owners Groups Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 7

  8. Organization ► Senior Executive Council Set long term plans/objectives Approve Charter amendment ► Steering Committee Set short/mid term plans/objectives Provide direction and oversight of all FROG activities Approve budget and program funding Chairman & Vice-Chairman elected for 2-year term ► Technical Committees, Working Groups, Correspondent Networks Implement decisions and policies adopted by SC ► AREVA Provide administrative and technical support Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 8

  9. FROG Activities ► Meetings Operating Steam Outage Material Diesel Steering RIA Steering Procedures Generator Optimization Ageing WG WG Committee WG Committee WG TC WG ► Joint Programs More than 30 programs completed or in progress Examples • R&D: e.g. 600/690 Alloys Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking • Benchmarking studies and improvement suggestions: e.g. Operating Procedures • Degradation modes analyses: e.g. RV Internals, SG ► Correspondent Networks Ageing Network Spare Part Network Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 9

  10. Steering Committee Meetings Operating Steam Outage Material Diesel Steering RIA Steering Procedures Generator Optimization Ageing WG WG Committee WG Committee WG TC WG ► Twice a year ► Attendance Utility operation managers or representatives (SC Members) FROG Secretary AREVA Management representatives (including Engineering, Services, Fuel, I&C) Utilities/AREVA specific speakers depending on agenda ► Agenda Operating experience: performance & main events Specific subjects analyzed trough Members and/or AREVA presentation, e.g. Obsolescence Management, Dose Reduction, Contractor Management in Maintenance, Spare Part Management, Feedback Process, Core Thermal Power Measurement, Human Performance Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 10

  11. Working Groups Meetings Operating Steam Outage Material Diesel Steering RIA Steering Procedures Generator Optimization Ageing WG WG Committee WG Committee WG TC WG ► Currently 5 Working Groups + 1 Technical Committee ► Each group meet once a year ► Attendance Utility/plant specialists in the WG domain AREVA experts including US and German representatives ► Agenda Operating experience in the WG specific domain Specific technical issues Discussions of potential & current Joint Programs ► Additionally, occasional Workshops: Spare Parts, Ageing, etc Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 11

  12. FROG Technical Publications ► Distribution to FROG Members ► Information Notices, Significant Event Reports, Material Event Reports Summarize an event that • occurred in a FROG Member or non-FROG Member unit • can be considered as important for FROG Members Present event cause analysis, potential impact for FROG Member units, AREVA position and/or recommendation, as available ► Designer Newsletters State AREVA’s position as NSSS designer on a specific topic of general interest to FROG Members ► Technical Program Reports ► FROG Performance Indicators Reports Introduction to FROG April 2012 - p. 12
