  6. Parent Survey Results informed us What Parents Would Like to See Happen in Nebo

  7. Addressing Parent Requests and Enrollment Growth… Building three new middle schools will take 6 th grade students out of the elementary schools leaving room for approximately 2,600 students at the elementary level. Thus, there will be no need to build new elementary schools . Building the new middle schools will also take 7 th grade students out of the junior high schools leaving room for approximately 2,500 students at the junior high schools. Thus, there will be no need to build new junior high schools. Once the new middle schools are created, we will be able to implement a straight alignment system. The following page explains how that will work…

  8. Current Proposed

  9. Why Rebuild our High Schools? Current buildings will be approximately 60 years old and are in constant need of costly repair. New buildings reduce the need for portables while preparing for future growth. New high schools are adaptable and ready for technology-based learning. New buildings have increased security measures and modern security systems. New high schools are up to current seismic standards reducing risk to students and staff.

  13. District Proposal Hold a Special Bond Election for $298 million November 6, 2018

  14. How will this bond affect my property taxes? There will be No Increase in your Property Tax Rate If the amount of taxes you pay increases, it will happen because the County Assessor or another taxing entity has increased the value of your home - not Nebo School District.

  15. How can Nebo bond for $298 million with No Tax Rate Increase? 1. With growth, more taxpayers share the responsibility for payment (additional assessed valuation). 2. Existing bonds have been deliberately structured to allow new bonds to be issued without a tax rate increase. 3. The $298 million will be borrowed in smaller amounts over a number of years until the building projects are complete.
