WICF Overview • The Western Interconnection Compliance Forum (WICF) is a grass-roots information sharing organization within the Western Interconnection. • Run by and on behalf of entities subject to WECC and NERC compliance requirements. • Volunteers comprise Steering Committee with elected officers. • Over 1,000 members (including non-voting membership) and are growing everyday. • Purpose of WICF is to provide registered functional entities within the Western Interconnection a venue to share knowledge and lessons learned regarding compliance matters, and to collectively develop best practices. • Membership is free and is open to NERC registered entities and their designees. • Many focus groups including: Protection systems, Small-entity Experience, Generation, CIP, New Standards Implementation, and Internal Controls. • Meets 2-3 times per year in person and dozens of times throughout year on conference calls and within focus groups. • 2-day Peer Sharing events on focused topics WWW.WICF.BIZ Slide 2
WICF Event Analysis Focus Group - Purpose The purpose of the Event Analysis Focus Group is to promote a structured and consistent approach to performing event analyses that could affect the reliability and security of the Bulk Electric System, and the sharing of Event Analysis process experiences. WICF Event Analysis Focus Group - Objectives Objective 1: Promote participation in and transparency of the NERC Event Analysis Process. Objective 2: Facilitate open sharing between WICF members of Event Analysis process experiences. Objective 3: Identify and share best practices for analyzing events within the Group and the broader WICF community, such as tools, templates, and procedures. Objective 4: Serve as a clearinghouse for WICF feedback to the NERC Events Analysis Group the Regional Entities regarding Events Analysis experiences. WWW.WICF.BIZ Slide 4
