  2. FILMS THAT INFLUENCED ME • Two movies that influenced me as I studied then for my research project were "Taken" and in some similar ways the movie "Halloween" • The way then action movie "Taken" influenced me was the way the plot of the story played out. At the beginning of the story, the scene opens up with an establishing shot that sets the setting of the movie. The wardrobe of the characters mainly influenced me because the all black attire fits the theme of an action movie and also of a drama movie. Intense music also plays a huge role in the effect it wants the audience to obtain. Both the wardrobe and the non-diegetic sound used in the movie "Taken" highlight the important qualities of action movies that are needed in order to reach out to the audience and make them feel a sense of uneasiness. This is very similar to the action film I will be making because by using these same techniques I plan to make the audience sit on the edge of their seat and make the mood of the film very intense.

  3. FILMS THAT INFLUENCED ME • Another movie I researched that had certain factors that influenced me was the movie "Halloween" • In the movie "Halloween", I noticed it contained certain qualities that are crucial for action/drama films. For example, while I researched "Halloween" I saw the use of an establishing shot which was also used in the film "Taken", this again helps better understand the setting of the story. Similar to the other film, the use of dark colored wardrobes also fit into action based films. More things like: dim lighting, loud sound effects, and suspenseful music. • I was not, however, influenced by the movie "Deadpool" because it consisted of up- beat non-diegetic music as well as vivid colors and lighting. Also, the use of comedic jokes and the way the character interacts with the camera directly does not fit into the characteristics of an action film.
