RSVP Refund Support Vocations Activity/RSVP (Church activities): When a council 1) donates $500 donation to a Religious and 2) completes / submits the RSVP Refund and Plaque Application (#2863) to Supreme, it will fulfill all four (4) Church Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

  3. th Sunday Rosary 5 th ry Program 5 th Sunday Rosary Program: (Council Activity) When a Councils sponsors Rosary prayer services on the 5 th Sunday of the following months: They will fulfill all four requirements for the Church Activities section of the Columbian Award. 1/29/17, 4/30/17, 7/30/17, 10/29/17, & 12/31/17 ).

Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity (Community activities): When a council 1) donates $1,000 and 2) performs 200 volunteer manhours to a Habitat for Humanity project and 3) completes / submits the Partnership Profile Report with Habitat for Humanity (#10092) to Supreme, it will fulfill all four (4) Community Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

GLOBAL WHEELCHAIR MIS ISSION Global Wheelchair Mission (Community activities): When a council 1) raises funds to purchase 100 or more wheelchairs and, 2) completes / submits the Global Wheelchair Report Form (#10071) to Supreme, it will fulfill all four (4) Community Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

SPECIAL OLYMPICS Special Olympics (Council activities): When a council 1) raises $2,000, 2) contributes 200 volunteer manhours and, 3) completes / submits the Partnership Profile Report with Special Olympics (#4584) by 31 Jan to Supreme, it will fulfill all four (4) Council Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

  7. MARCH FOR LIF IFE March for Life (Culture of Life activities): When a council organizes a minimum of 100 marchers to participate in a local, regional or national March for Life project, it will fulfill all four (4) Culture of Life Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

  8. ULTRASOUND IN INITIATIVE Ultrasound Initiative (Culture of Life activities): When a council 1) raises half the cost of an Ultrasound Machine and 2) submits the Ultrasound Initiative Application (#4886) to Supreme, it will fulfill all four (4) Culture of Life Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

FOOD FOR FAMILIES Food for Families (Family activities): When a council 1) collects and donates a minimum of 1,000 pounds of food to a Food Bank or Soup Kitchen, 2) contributes a minimum of 100 volunteer man-hours and 3) completes / submits the Food for Families Reimbursement Program Refund and Plaque Application (#10057) by 30 June to Supreme , it will fulfill all four (4) Family Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7). Work with an organization that provides Thanksgiving meals and donate time and treasure to qualify.

COATS FOR KIDS Coats for Kids (Youth activities): When a council 1) orders eight (8) cases of coats, 2) distributes the coats and, 3) completes and submits the Coats for Kids Order Form (#5029) to Supreme, it will fulfill all four (4) Youth Activities category requirements in the Columbian Award Application (SP-7).

  11. Campaign for People wit ith In Intellectual Dis isabilities CIPD (Tootsie Roll Drive)-(Community Activity) - Utilize families and other organizations in the church, i.e. SVdP Benevolent conference to help with collections outside establishments willing to grant permission

Youth programs Youth programs-(Youth Activities) -Free throw contest, Essay Contest, Substance Abuse Awareness Program, Soccer Challenge, Keep Christ in Christmas- Tie in these programs with other youth activities, Life Teen, Church Bazaar or Fall Festival, SVdP Benevolent conference fund raisers, etc.

  13. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Additional Option-High School Scholarships to Parish Seniors- (Youth/Community/Church activity)- Hold fundraising events to provide scholarships to parish seniors. Tie in with Catholic Citizen Essay Program to judge recipients along with other qualifications, citizenship, grades, and extracurricular activities.

  14. IN CONCLUTION NO COUNCIL NEEDS TO UNDERTAKE ALL OF THE SERVICE PROGRAMS LISTED OR SHOULD THEY BE LIMITED BY THESE SUGGESTIONS. EVALUATE THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY AND IMPLEMENT THOSE THAT ARE NEEDED MOST
