Rule changes • Qualification in showjumping before start of the season • Horse and rider have to jump 2 classes with a total of no more than 8 faults in a show jumping class with fences 10 cm over the level they will start in the first eventing class of the season.
Rule changes • Qualification to go up a level • In addition to a qualifying result in eventing, horse and rider must jump with not more than 4 faults a show jumping class: • To start 1 meter class, showjumping 1,10 • To start CNC * and ** showjumping 1,20 • To start CNC *** showjumping 1,30

Ponies • New size and age rules • Ponies up to 138 cm. ”Category 2” • Ponies between 138 cm and 148 cm. ”Category 1 • Category is divided in 2 age groups: • Category 2 - 13 • Category 2 14 + • Small ponies only compete below cncp * level • Riders on category 1 ponies can compete in cncp * and up from the age of 13 if qualified
Riders book • All riders must be able to present a riders book with the following information: – Qualifying results – Fall reports – Warnings
Judges and technical delegates • At competitions with more than 100 starters or more than 2 classes judging responibility shall always be divided between a main judge supported by a technical delegate
Controller • Education of controllers in 2008 • Only certified controllers from 2009
Riders representative • A riders representative shall be appointed for each show by the technical delegate • Experienced rider • Will be responsible of communicating the wiew of the riders to organizers, judges and technical delegates.
Course design • Not less than 4 strides between fences on a bent line
Watches • Riders are not allowed to wear watches in classes below CNC *
Flag poles • Recommendation to course designers to use breakable flag poles at fences less than 3 m wide.
Safety Programme OFFICIALS (Course Designers, Technical Delegates, Controllers, Judges etc) - Safety Guide-lines for Course Designers, Technical Delegate (fence characters, combinations, material, safetypoles) - Riders representative at all competitions for better communication between organisers, officials and riders - Education and certification of controllers
In progress • Promotion and introduction of the rule changes for riders, organisers and officials by internet and medias before 1st January 2008 • Organizers meeting • Education of officals • Survey in cooperation with the university of Linköping • Evaluation of the rule changes starts at the begining of October 2008
