  5. A New Vision for Learning The library media center is a hub that connects and inspires a love of reading through authentic and integrated learning.

  6. Defining Success We believe a successful library media program contains the following: ● There is an intentional connection between library media center and classroom learning. ● The library media specialist works cooperatively with teachers in the design and preparation of units of study. ● An intentional interaction from the librarian to reach out and connect to meet the needs of the staff as a resource to bridge the classroom learning with the library media center. ● Bringing literature to life through authentic learning experiences for the students ● There is a mixture of scheduled and flexible time. ● Creates a culture of learning that fosters the development of empowered, self-directed learners and passionate, knowledgeable problem solvers. ● Integrate information literacy through collaboration, planning, implementation, and assessment of learning.

  10. Innovation Academy Passionate about Innovation Innovation Academy is a dynamic program that redesigns the learning experience for students in Andover Public Schools. The initiative helps transform student learning from traditional to leading edge in order to meet the needs of today’s students and the future workforce. In the initial phase of this district project, we will create 10 libraries of the future within Andover schools. These innovative learning spaces will fully immerse students in a collaborative culture, incorporate multiple learning styles, flexible seating configurations, and engage students in authentic learning projects. This project, beginning in media centers and projected to expand to Andover school classrooms, has the potential to redesign learning in a powerful way.
